The LEGO Group

Marketing effectiveness / Data science group

Lead Data Scientist | Sept 2021 - present

Senior Data Scientist | April 2019 - 2021

When I joined the LEGO Group, I developed an R package to build marketing mix models from scratch, allowing our team to reduce dependencies on an external media agency and provide media optimization solutions to more business units around the organization. We have since expanded this tool to help us answer additional questions around sales contributions and brand health.

More recently, I have led teams of internal and external data scientists to develop promotional effectiveness and sales contribution & scenario analysis models. These data science products are automated, from data collection to stakeholder results sharing, using AWS, Power BI, and Shiny.

Working at The LEGO Group means that I’m one of a handful of data scientists in the world who gets paid to do super serious data science with data sets about toys, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Disney, Marvel, Harry Potter (and SO much more). Doesn’t get much better than this.

Volunteer

Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History | 2014-present

Tour docent since 2014

I lead weekend highlights tours covering the Peabody’s dinosaur, mammal, mineral, and Egypt collections. I’ve written three specialty tours, including one about the Peabody Museum’s connection with the dinosaurs featured in Jurassic Park.

I have also served as President and Vice President of the Associates Council, where I helped to develop new programs to improve community and visitor outreach at the museum.
